A sunny day in gloomy Vancouver ! What better reason to wear some of the brightest tights I own? I thrifted this dress in the States on a trip with my mom and her best friend. It is perfect to me, simply because it is what I imagine Ms. Frizzle would wear on a Florida vacation. This jacket was a great find at Value Village for a mere 15 bucks, and the shoes are from Urban Outfitters (sale!).

We had critiques for our projects in Design Core, mine was a movie poster for the documentary Helvetica by Gary Hustwit (which I highly recommend watching if you have not yet seen it). After presentations I got to walk around Downtown and enjoy the sunshine !

fall through like change in the daylight

Nothing beats an afternoon on a beautiful day with two lovely friends. Well, perhaps nothing besides chocolate. Today I was lucky enough to squeeze all of these things into one delicious visit. Lydia and Adam accompanied me to a yummy local cafe where we chatted over hot, real chocolate, hot chocolates. Yum.

I was very excited to pull out my warm layers after last night’s snowfall; I think I might have been the only girl in the city hoping for snow this winter. Nearly my entire outfit was born second-hand, including my thrifted jacket, sweater, shirt, skirt and boots. This lovely scarf was hand-knit for me from my Mom last Christmas.

Baby it’s cold outside

Merry Christmas! Currently content and situated at my parents house, on the couch, wine in hand. Perfection. I have decided to try my hand at using mobile WordPress, here are a few presents I made and wrapped for today!

The jars are filled with brandy and eggnog pudding. Very easy and very tasty. Happy holidays!

when the daylight comes do you feel it ?

procrastination has been key to my schooling thus far. case in point: on a group project day i somehow had time to curl my hair AND take photos. oops!

we did end up getting a lot of work done that day though, and lucky for me I came out of this school project with two really great friends! I am wearing a thrifted dress (needles and pins, UO), a mint blouse from F21, knee socks from F21 layered over fishnet tights, and thrifted flats.

oops .. its been a long time. I blame school ! Currently in final project lock-down mode, but in the meantime here is the final outcome of my Lamp for Design challenge #2.

ladder to the stars

It is midway through October and I can’t believe it ! Where has this year gone ?? Goodness. Anyways, I am still alive. School and work have been ‘crazytown’ but after my 16.5 hour coma last night I feel as though I have recovered. At least, hopefully, until the end if this semester.

With my first Design Core project handed in, school has definitely gone into full swing. For my next project I have decided to make table lamp of sorts … wish me luck. Here are a few of my proposed sketches, I just hope that I can pull off the idea well enough ! I need to find a good glass cutter somewhere in Vancouver …

Aside from that I did another cover this afternoon in my free time. I really really love this song and am hoping for Lydia and I to do a version when we actually have some free time together ! Its amazing how little we see each other considering we work and live together. We have a coffee date tomorrow night though and I am looking forward to spending some time with my bff.

get that, get that money

As the story of starving students goes, Lydia and I are always looking for ways to make a little extra cash; it helps support the shoe fund. On occasion we go busking near the Vancouver Art Gallery, which is a bit scary but also a lot of fun. My friend Leigh came by to support us and took this video of us singing. We are hoping to play a show closer to Christmas, so if anyone knows a good coffee shop to play at, let us know!
